American rapper Eminem, winner of more than a dozen Grammy Awards, has filed a lawsuit against the technology company, Meta. Eminem filed a lawsuit claiming that Meta used his songs on platforms like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp without permission, demanding more than 100.9 million dollars in damages.

Eminem's music publishing company At Mile Style filed a lawsuit in the US court on May 30, accusing Meta of illegally using 243 of the rapper's songs. As mentioned in the case, Meta makes those songs available to users through its 'music library'. It has been used in millions of videos using features like 'Original Audio' and 'Reels Remix'.

Eminem's company has demanded compensation of up to 150,000 dollars for one song, one platform. Its total amount will reach 100 million 93 million 50 thousand US dollars according to the American media. "Meta also violates copyright by storing, reusing and commercializing songs without our permission," the lawsuit says.

Eminem and Eight Mile Style are accused of illegally storing and using songs even though they complained earlier and Meta removed some of the songs at that time . Meta has said that the song has been used in agreement with the music partners . "We were in good faith with Eight Mile Style, but they chose to end the negotiations and file a lawsuit," Meta's spokesperson said in an interview with The Independent . Eight Mile Style is also seeking monetary damages and a jury trial.
