The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has issued a notification to prevent the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to assassinate people's characters, create obscene and objectionable content and make it public.
The bureau believes that abuse has increased with the excessive use of social media and AI in recent times. According to the Cyber Bureau, the act of character assassination of a person, creating obscene and objectionable content and making it public, misleading and creating/making music by choosing wrong words is increasing. It is mentioned in the notification published on Tuesday that the Bureau has drawn serious attention to it.
The Bureau has made it clear that such activities not only have a serious impact on the social reputation of a particular person, but also constitute a crime according to the existing cyber laws. In the notice signed by Superintendent of Police Deepakraj Awasthi, citizens are requested to use digital technology thoughtfully.
"Cyber Bureau requests everyone to use such technology thoughtfully and positively so as not to harm the respect of others in order to avoid getting into legal trouble," the notice said.
