Medical education reform activist and orthopedic and neurology specialist Dr. Govinda KC has reached Darchula to provide health services to the residents of Chhangru and Tinkar villages. Dr. KC has come to conduct free health camps in Chhangru and Tinkar of Beas Rural Municipality-1. He had previously reached Darchula at various times and provided health services. He had come to Tinkar during the Corona period and returned from the Darchula district headquarters after encountering road problems. ‘This time, I have come with the aim of providing direct health services to the citizens of remote settlements,’ he said.
To reach Chhangru and Tinkar, one still has to travel through India. Dr. KC, who is awaiting permission from the Indian administration to reach Chhangru and Tinkar, is providing health services to the residents of Chhangru and Tinkar residing in Khalga, the district headquarters of Darchula, on Sunday.
The camp will mainly provide testing and treatment services for bone and joint and nerve diseases, said Dr. KC. . He said that although there are no complex surgeries due to the lack of equipment in remote areas, surgeries will be performed as much as possible using the resources available at local health institutions.
The necessary medicines for the camp will be provided by Beas Rural Municipality. Dr. KC said that preparations have been made to conduct free health camps in those two villages as per the request of the locals of Chhangru and Tinkar and his own commitment.
