After photos and videos of him riding a motorcycle without a helmet were made public, Sudur Paschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has fallen into the trap of the traffic police.

Shah, who mostly travels on the Baisakhi route, posted a video of him riding a Bullet motorcycle without a helmet inside his residence in the evening on TikTok by his Chief Personal Secretary Prayagraj Khanal. The video went viral on social media.

After widespread protests, a team led by Police Inspector Resham Acharya of the District Traffic Police Office, Kailali, reached the Chief Minister's residence. The police have issued a fine to the Chief Minister under the Vehicle and Transport Management Act.

The Vehicle Act 2049 makes helmets mandatory for motorcyclists. The police have fined Shah Rs 500 for his first offense for violating the same law. The Act provides for increasing the fine rate (from 500 to 1500) for violating the rules.

Some have said that since it is inside the compound, it should be taken as normal and there is no need to cut the chit.
