A passenger bus going from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu met with an accident in Kapilvastu. Twenty-two passengers were injured in a bus accident in Maharajgunj Municipality-2 Gaidahawa under the Hulaki road section.
The bus (No. Sudurpaschim Province 01-001 Kha 3721) operated by Shivpuri Luxury Coach Pvt. Ltd. hit a road divider and overturned on the road, police said.
The injured in the accident are the driver Harisingh Mahara, 42, of Kailali, Chakra Bahadur Rokaya, 25, of Baitadi, Bharat Malla, 30, of Doti, and Bimal Bhatta, 28, and Sitadevi Badi, 55, of Kailali Godavari. Similarly, Narendra Tamrakar, 29, of the same family from Dadeldhura, his wife Alia, 25, and 2-year-old son Sudarshan Tamrakar were also injured.
Other injured passengers include 23-year-old Binod Satkuli and 23-year-old Kishwar Bohora from Bajhang, 15-year-old Lochan Bista from Baitadi and his 45-year-old father Krishna Bahadur Bista, 77-year-old Ganapati Bhagari from Kailali, 24-year-old Akhil Kumar Thadiya, 24-year-old Gopal Poudel, 22-year-old Deepika Bhandari and 36-year-old Prakash Rokaya. Similarly, 65-year-old Bhadra Krishna Mishra from Chitwan, 40-year-old Kesh Bahadur Deuba from Dadeldhura, 33-year-old Prabhananda Thakunna from Darchula and 40-year-old Parbati Bohora from Dadeldhura Ganyapadhura were also injured.
According to the police, the injured have suffered injuries to their head, chest, hands and legs. After receiving primary treatment at the District Hospital Taulihawa, they have been sent to the Medical College in Bhairahawa for further treatment.
After the bus carrying 46 people met with an accident, the remaining 24 passengers have been sent to their destination in another vehicle. Nepal Police has stated that the postal road has now been reopened after the bus was removed from the road using a crane. The police have taken the driver into custody and started an investigation into the further cause of the accident.
