Two soldiers, including a lieutenant, were injured when a grenade exploded during a military training exercise in Kailali. Two soldiers were injured when a grenade exploded during a firing exercise in the Jalpa Community Forest Area of Mohanyal Rural Municipality-7 in Kailali.
According to DSP Yogendra Timilsina, spokesperson of the District Police Office, the grenade exploded during a firing exercise conducted from the Gorange Barracks of the Sudurpaschim Pritana Training School on Thursday morning. The explosion injured Lieutenant Himraj Joshi and Hudda Himal Bikram Bista.
Police said that Bista suffered shrapnel wounds to his right palm and other parts of his body. Lieutenant Joshi also suffered shrapnel wounds to his body. Both the injured are undergoing treatment at the Gorange Barracks, DSP Timilsina said.
