The UML has decided to leave the government if the Sudurpaschim Provincial Government does not amend the budget presented for the fiscal year 083/84.

The Congress-led government is in partnership with the UML. The UML parliamentary party has also decided to register the budget amendment proposal in the provincial assembly.

The meeting, chaired by Provincial President Krishna Prasad Jaishi and hosted by the party's central member and Sudurpaschim in-charge Damodar Bhandari, expressed serious disagreement with the budget brought by the provincial government and took a stance for amendment, saying that the budget was not prepared in accordance with the agreement of the joint government, common policies and programs. The UML meeting concluded that the Congress is trying to monopolize the budget.

The meeting has decided to give instructions to the parliamentary party demanding budget amendment, respecting the agreements reached during the operation of the joint government. "The provincial committee has decided to give instructions to the parliamentary party on the matter and that it will not be able to participate in the joint government if amendments are not made," said a statement issued by Bhagarathi Bista, head of the UML provincial publicity and publication department.
