With the aim of making disaster management and rescue work more effective, the Armed Police Force has added a base in the Far West. The base has been established in Buder, Jorayal Rural Municipality-2, Doti.
With this, there are now three disaster management bases in the Far West. Earlier, there were only two disaster management bases of the Armed Police Force in the Far West. Disaster management bases were in operation in Dadeldhura headquarters and Dudejhari, Kailali.
The base established in Buder was inaugurated by the Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police, Dig Vijay Subedi, Battalion Commander of the 7th Baidyanath Battalion of the Armed Police Force, on Thursday.
Subedi, Battalion Commander, said that every moment is important during a disaster and expressed confidence that the disaster management base established in Buder will make the preparation, rescue and relief work more rapid, effective and result-oriented. According to him, trained divers and trained manpower have been mobilized at the Baidyanath Bahini headquarters in Kailali.
He said that there is a need to make disaster management units resourceful. He said that since disaster management is a shared jurisdiction of the local government and the provincial government, disaster management work can be made effective with the cooperation and coordination of all bodies. In that context, Jorayal Rural Municipality Chairman Durga Dutta Ojha said that there will be no shortage of resources.
