Eight people arrested in the death case of Baldev Singh Dhami, the principal of Sampal Secondary School in Sunsera, Beas Rural Municipality-4, have been sent to jail for remand.
A single bench of District Court Darchula Judge Bhuwan Giri ordered the jailing of all eight people on Friday. According to Judge Giri, all eight people have been sent to jail for remand for the time being and the final decision will be made after the completion of the remaining evidence and witness examination.
Those who will be sent to jail on Friday are Bikram Singh Kubar, 32, of Mahakali Municipality-1, Daljit Bhatta, 52, of Mahakali-2, Khimananda Bhatta, 42, of Mahakali-5, Paramananda Bhatta, 57, of Beas Rural Municipality-4, Padamraj Bhatta, 31, of Narendradatta Bhatta, 43, of Haridatta Bhatta, 56, of Haridatta Bhatta, and Pushkarraj Bhatta, 40, of Patan Municipality-4, Baitadi.
Principal Dhami was found hanging in the school on Jestha 4 after writing a long suicide note on social media. The victims and local people have been protesting continuously for three days, demanding a fair investigation into the incident and strict legal action against the culprits. Relatives have said that they have been protesting demanding that the culprits behind the suicide be brought to justice.
