One person has died and ten others have been injured in a bus accident in Baitadi.
A bus (S.P.P.R. 01001 Kha 3646) coming from Dhangadhi in Kailali to Baitadi met with an accident at Chhela near Shahilek Bazaar in Dasharathchand Municipality-4 at around 5:45 pm on Friday. The deceased in the accident is 35-year-old Birendra Bahadur Chand of Dasharathchand-6, said Deepak Kumar Ray, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Baitadi. He said that 10 others were slightly injured.
All the injured are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Baitadi. The bus fell about 30 meters off the road. There were 12 people on board, including the driver.
The police have taken the driver, Keshav Mahara, 37, of Patan Municipality-8, under control and are investigating.
