After a long struggle, the district convention of the National Independent Party (RSP) has elected a new leadership. The two-day convention unanimously elected Satyaraj Upadhyay as the president.

Upadhyay became the unanimous choice after another aspirant for the post of president, Narendra Khadka, withdrew his candidacy. Upadhyay was also the district president of the RSP earlier.

Elections were held for the posts of vice-president and secretary. Ram Bahadur Dewar was elected as the vice-president, which was seen as very competitive, with 99 votes, while another aspirant, Arun Kumar Rokaya, received 88 votes.

Similarly, in the election held for the post of secretary, Ashok Malla was elected with 116 votes. His competitor, Ram Chandra Joshi, received 66 votes. Similarly, Mukesh Aidy was elected as the joint secretary, and Aarti Bhat Japrel was elected as the treasurer, informed RSP central committee member Shailesh Kumar Singh.
