Final preparations are underway for the reshuffle of ministers in the Sudurpaschim provincial government. Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has verbally informed the provincial chief's office to prepare for the swearing-in ceremony today, the provincial chief's office has said.

In the cabinet meeting held on Monday, Chief Minister Shah has also thanked the ministers in his cabinet. Social Development Minister Meghraj Khadka said, ‘The Chief Minister thanked the ministers who are leaving us.’

There is a Congress-led UML coalition government in the Far West. Preparations are underway for a ministerial reshuffle in both parties except for the Chief Minister. The situation of reshuffle of all ministers has arisen due to internal turmoil within the Congress. After 9 Congress MPs filed a no-confidence motion against Shah in the parliamentary party, the dispute was resolved after an agreement was reached on the distribution of ministers. Chief Minister Shah had sided with former President Sher Bahadur Deuba and the MPs who filed the no-confidence motion had sided with President Gagan Thapa. The distribution of ministers in the Congress has also been done accordingly.

Earlier, the Congress quota included Minister for Economic Affairs Bahadur Singh Thapa, Minister for Social Development Meghraj Khadka, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Shivraj Bhatta, Minister of State for Social Development Saraswati Khadka and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Prakash Bahadur Bam Sarkar. Among them, Minister for Economic Affairs Thapa, Minister for Social Development Khadka, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Bhatta and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Khadka belong to the Deuba group. According to the new understanding, the dispute over the understanding that the Thapa group would get two ministers and one minister of state in other areas except economic affairs had been resolved.

The Chief Minister is preparing to make Bikram Singh Dhami, who is the Chief Whip in the Economic Affairs Ministry, a minister. The Thapa group, however, has not yet been able to finalize its name. The minister for Social Development, Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment and one minister of state will have to be sent. Since Diwan Singh Bista, who led the coalition, said that he would not be a minister, the center was asked to nominate names after a tussle for the other seven ministers. Meanwhile, after Saraswati Khadka, who was the Minister of State, had to step down, the Chief Minister has made her the Chief Whip.

Meanwhile, since the Congress is going to reshuffle the ministers, the UML has also been preparing for a reshuffle. Although instructions were issued on Friday to recall all the current ministers and send new ones, the MPs said that instructions were issued on Monday afternoon to retain the current ministers.
