The ‘Far West Court 2083’ has been formally launched in the provincial capital of Dhangadhi.
The court began in Dhangadhi on Saturday to set a roadmap for the province’s development, policy reforms and economic prosperity. Addressing the inaugural session of the program, Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah said that the door to prosperity should be opened by properly utilizing the immense potential existing in the Far West.
He expressed confidence that this court would pave the right path for development to the provincial and federal governments and provide concrete suggestions for policy reforms. He said that the two-day discussion would play an important role in focusing the government’s upcoming policies and programs towards prosperity.
‘There is immense potential in the Far West. I am confident that this program will focus all those possibilities towards prosperity in a policy manner,’ Chief Minister Shah said, ‘I am confident that the two-day discussion and its conclusion will also provide the government with suggestions for policy reforms.’
On the same occasion, Former Chief Minister and UML Provincial Parliamentary Party leader Rajendra Singh Rawal said that despite having sufficient resources and means in the Far West, the expected development has not been achieved. He believed that such discussions would help in taking the potential of the province to the national and international level.
Former Minister and Provincial Assembly member Naresh Shahi, highlighting the objectives of the program, informed that a common development approach will be prepared in the areas of education, health, agriculture, tourism and infrastructure, reflecting the self-respect of the Far West. According to him, the findings and suggestions received from the court will be sent to the central government for inclusion in the upcoming budget and policy-making process.
Experts from various fields have been invited to the program. Professor Dr. of Kumaon University, India. Ritesh Shah pledged to help promote the potential of the Far West.
Similarly, the chairman of the organizer, Sudurpaschim Bikas Foundation, Sher Bahadur Shahi, emphasized the need for policy reform initiatives through dialogue and pointed out the need for a clear vision and shared responsibility for development. Dr. Jeevan Rana, Vice President of the Provincial Policy and Planning Commission, informed about the second five-year plan of the province at the program.
