Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has demanded clarification from the leadership about the position and respect of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba within the party.
Addressing a gathering of provincial and local level leaders and workers organized in Dhangadhi, Chief Minister Shah targeted President Gagan Thapa and raised the question of why Deuba was deprived of the election ticket.
Commenting on the internal equation within the party and the role of the leadership, Shah asked, ‘What is the position and status of respected leader Sher Bahadur Deuba? I request you to clarify.’
He said that he has no objection to accepting Gagan Thapa as a leader and urged him to fulfill the responsibility of integrating the entire Congress efficiently. Chief Minister Shah had emphasized the need to include everyone to strengthen the party.
He warned Thapa, claiming that there is a virus within the central working committee. ‘There are some viruses in your working committee too, they can be eliminated. Be careful,’ he said.
