Shanti Nath, the vice-chairperson of Beldandi Rural Municipality in Kanchanpur, has been arrested. Police have said that she was arrested for investigation in a case related to culpable homicide. According to SP Khadak Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, she was arrested on Thursday evening to investigate the death of Harikisan Rana of Khairighat, Beldandi-3. "The relatives have filed a complaint, and the arrest was made on that basis," he said. A year ago, on Baisakh 9, 2082, Rana was found dead in a burnt body in Shivanagar, Belauri Municipality-10. The family and relatives have been demanding necessary action after identifying the culprit.
