The daily lives of children have become challenging as the Doti Juvenile Correctional Home has more child care workers than its capacity. The home, which has a capacity of 25, currently has 34 child care workers.

This situation of having to manage with limited structure and resources is making the daily life of the reformatory challenging.

Child abusers from the hilly districts of the far west are practicing discipline and reformation here under one roof. According to the available data, the largest number of them are 8 each from Baitadi and Achham. 5 child abusers from Bajhang, 4 from Darchula, 4 from Doti, 3 from Dadeldhura and 2 from Bajura are in the reformatory. All of them, who come from different geographical and social backgrounds, are now trying to move towards a new life.

Sanumaya Gurung, the head of the child abuser home, said that those from Kailali and Kanchanpur are not kept in Doti but are sent to the reformatory in Bardiya. She said that such an arrangement has been made in terms of management and accessibility.

Along with reformation, emphasis has also been placed on education for the child abusers living in the reformatory. This year, 5 people have even given the secondary education examination.

Chief Gurung said that the goods in the reformatory were kept at the District Administration Office as they take up more space.

12 child-rearing workers had escaped during the Gen-G movement. They are still absconding, Gurung said.
