The economic census is set to begin across the country from April 20. Arrangements have been made to deploy 17 enumerators and three supervisors in Dadeldhura under the economic census.
The District Economic Census Office, Dadeldhura, made this information during a district-level awareness seminar on 'Economic Census for Measuring the Economy' organized at the district headquarters on Wednesday.
District Economic Census Officer Karna Bahadur Chhetri said that the economic census will be conducted in Dadeldhura from April 20 to Ashar 7 as per the nationwide program. According to him, all types of economic activities, from industries, commercial establishments, general paan shops, tea shops, hotels, to small and large ones, will be counted.
‘Wherever economic activities are being conducted in the district, all those areas will be included in this census,’ said Chhetri, ‘Data on all types of activities that produce goods and provide services will be collected, which will provide significant support to the state in policy formulation and planning.’
According to him, the economic census will provide important information including the number of establishments at the municipality and ward levels in the district, their condition, manpower involved in employment, and legality.
Training will be conducted for enumerators and supervisors deployed in the district from Chaitra 26 to 30. They are scheduled to be deployed in the field from Baisakh 22. According to the office, 6 enumerators will be deployed in Amargadhi Municipality, 4 in Parashuram Municipality, two each in Alital and Navadurga Rural Municipality, and one enumerator each in Bhageshwor, Ganyapadhura and Ajaymeru Rural Municipality.
The results of the economic census will be made public within the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.
