Education Minister and MPs discuss upgrading Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) MP KP Khanal said, ”There has been a special discussion about the upgrading of the university and the upcoming action plan. Discussions were held with the Education Minister about expanding the capacity of the hospital from the current 100-bed facility to 300 beds to make the service more effective.”

Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel and KP Khanal, an elected member of the Nepali Congress (NCC) from Kailali-2, have held discussions on the upgrading and future plans of Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences in Geta, Kailali. The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and other officials of Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences were also involved in the discussion held at Singha Durbar on Saturday. MP Khanal informed that issues including increasing the capacity of the hospital were discussed. 'A special discussion was held on the upgrading of the university and the future action plan. There was a discussion on expanding the capacity of the hospital from the current 100 beds to 300 beds to make the service more effective,' Khanal said.

Similarly, discussions were also held on how to start new educational programs and the necessary resources. He said that initiatives have been taken to operate 50 MBBS seats, 30 nursing seats, 20 BSc MLT seats and 20 ophthalmology seats from the upcoming academic session by ensuring the necessary financial resources of Rs 2.58 billion.
