On Tuesday evening, Hari Prasad Shrestha, aged around 50, of Dodhara Chandani Municipality-4 Surkheti Tole, attacked his stepmother and sister with a sharp weapon. According to the police, Shrestha repeatedly attacked his stepmother Bindra Shrestha, aged around 75, with a khukuri, causing her to die on the spot.
Bhagwati Devi Manjhi, aged around 54, was seriously injured in the incident. After initial treatment at Dodhara Chandani Nagar Hospital, the injured Manjhi was sent to Mahakali Provincial Hospital in Mahendranagar for further treatment. According to hospital sources, her condition is critical. The search for Shrestha, who is absconding, has been intensified, Kanchanpur Police said. According to the police, it is initially suspected that the incident may have occurred due to a domestic dispute. The police said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
