Minister of State for Social Development of the Far West Province Government, Saraswati Khadka, has said that emphasis on scientific and practical education is the need of the day. Khadka said that if children become active and move forward with scientific thinking, students can move forward much further in the future. Speaking at the ‘Arts, Skills and Science Exhibition, Food Festival and Cultural Program’ organized by Mountain English Medium Boarding School, Bagbazar, Dadeldhura on Saturday, she said that the foundation for a better future will be laid when our children become active. She said that if they are given the right mindset and resources, the students here have the ability to move forward scientifically. She said that she feels very good when she sees children being taught practical things that can be used in the household and daily kitchen. She also mentioned that she feels that something needs to be done to further promote such activities in the coming days. She said that there will be necessary coordination and support from the provincial government.
In the program organized in the school premises, students demonstrated various science-related projects and experimental materials. A food festival was also organized with various dishes prepared by the students as part of the program. Students prepared local and modern dishes at the food festival.
Parent Govinda Khadayat said that the science exhibition and food festival organized by the school were effective. He said that such programs help to highlight the talents of students and increase practical knowledge. Yatharth Pant, a student participating in the science exhibition, said that when such programs are organized in the school, they will increase their knowledge and skills and will gain practical experience along with their studies.
