Relatives of those who lost their lives in an accident near Lalpur intersection in Bedkot Municipality-7 on Thursday have blocked the East-West Highway. They have blocked the Attariya-Mahendranagar section since Friday morning, demanding proper compensation and action against the culprits.
Relatives of the deceased have gathered on the road since morning and completely blocked traffic. Saying that the incident is suspicious, they have also demanded a thorough investigation. They have objected to the bodies being removed from the scene without informing the relatives.
According to SP Khadak Bahadur Khatri of District Police Kanchanpur, the relatives are demanding proper compensation. “The relatives have demanded compensation, we are discussing it,” SP Khatri said.
On Thursday afternoon, a Bolero jeep (Se1Ch 1405) and a motorcycle (M2Pa 3506) collided head-on at Lalpur, Bedkot Municipality-7, Kanchanpur along the East-West Highway.
According to the police, the motorcycle driver, Ram Luhar, 40, of Barkunda, Bhimdatta Municipality-1, and the passenger, Dansingh Dhami, 40, of the same place, died on the spot.
The bodies of both have been kept at the Mahakali Provincial Hospital. Relatives have taken a stand that they will not accept the bodies until their demands are met.
