Traders from tea and snack shops used to be busy. However, Dhangadhi market has been deserted since yesterday. Dhangadhi has become deserted after the silent period for the election of members of the House of Representatives began and the general public went to the villages to vote. There is no gathering of people anywhere in the market. Voters from the hilly districts have returned to their villages, while voters from other parts of Kailali have also left Dhangadhi.
Dhana Chaudhary of Kailali's Kailari Rural Municipality has returned home to vote. A voter from Constituency No. 3 said that many of her friends living in Dhangadhi have returned home.
Similarly, voter Rekha Chaudhary of Kailali-2 is also returning home from Dhangadhi to vote. She said that she is excited to vote because young candidates have been fielded in her constituency this time.
‘Not only me but all the voters are excited to vote tomorrow, it is a special election, we are even more excited to see what the results will be,’ she said. 
Not only those from Kailali, the number of those leaving the district is also large. Bishnu Bohara of Bajhang returned to his home district yesterday to vote. Seven people, who live in Dhangadhi for studies, have returned home with him.
Traffic Police Office Kailali Chief Chakra Bahadur Deuba said that there is no exact data on how many people left the district. However, he said that the number of people leaving the district for the hilly districts is high.
‘In the last 3-4 days, every bus leaving Kailali was seen packed. The number of people leaving the district is high,’ he said.
