The district administration had issued a notice on Magh 20, urging them to surrender their licensed weapons by Magh 20.
‘The number of people who have obtained licenses from the district administration is large, but few have surrendered their weapons,’ said SP Khadak Bahadur Khatri of District Police Kanchanpur, ‘Some have yet to be updated, so fewer weapons may have been surrendered.’ According to SP Khatri, 203 people have obtained weapons licenses from the district administration.
