Most schools in Kailali could not open on Tuesday due to rumors of a Nepal Bandh. Most private schools in Dhangadhi have suspended classes for Tuesday after rumors of a sudden bandh broke out on Monday evening.
The daily life of the general public has also been affected by the shutdown called by the Communist Party of Nepal (Majority). Schools have announced that they have decided to close schools keeping in mind the safety of students, teachers and employees. The Far Western Academy of Dhangadhi has issued a notification and stated that it has suspended classes for one day considering the prevailing situation.
Similarly, Aishwarya Vidya Niketan has also informed that the school has been closed. Most schools including Galaxy Boarding, Alliance, Stephen, and E-Child are closed on Tuesday. Some schools have also sent back students who had reached the school on Tuesday, saying they were closed.
Although private schools have cited insecurity as the reason, some community schools in Dhangadhi are operating. Trinagar Secondary School of Dhangadhi has stated that regular classes are being conducted.
Not only schools, but also passengers have been disturbed by the rumors of Nepal Bandh. Radhika Pal of Dhangadhi said that although she was supposed to go to Nepalgunj today, she was stopped due to the Nepal Bandh.
Shivaraj Joshi, Information Officer of the District Administration, Kailali, said that the situation in the district is normal from a security perspective.
