Four people have been taken into custody for investigation on suspicion of the murder of a police constable in Darchula.
According to the District Police Office, Police Constable Yogendra Singh Gharti, who was working in the Community Police Bangabagar, was found dead behind a hotel house in Lower Bangabagar Bazaar.
Police Constable Gharti, who is also a local of Mahakali Municipality-4, had 4/5 wounds on his head, so it is suspected that he was murdered, said Ward Chairman of Mahakali Municipality-4 Jagatram Chunara.
Four people suspected of being involved in the murder have been taken into custody for questioning, said Darchula Police Information Officer Hemraj Bhatta. The body has now been taken to the District Hospital for postmortem.
