An HPV vaccination campaign to prevent cervical cancer is set to begin in the district. According to the Dadeldhura Health Office, the campaign, which will be launched from Magh 17, will continue until Magh 19.

The Health Office informed about the preparations and target groups of the campaign through a meeting of the District Vaccination Coordination Committee and discussions with media persons on Tuesday. Under the school-centered program, 1,516 girls will be vaccinated across the district. 

According to Keshar Bahadur Saund, Chief of the Health Office, the vaccination is being given priority to girls studying in grade 6 of all seven local levels and 10-year-old girls who are out of school. He said that girls who missed the vaccination last year will also be included in this campaign. 

The Health Office has stated that arrangements have been made to vaccinate girls studying in grades 7 to 10 who missed the vaccination last year and girls aged 11 to 14 who are not going to school. It is said that the preparation of the necessary vaccination, manpower and management at the district level has reached the final stage.

According to the office, 1,443 girls studying in grade 6, 34 girls from grades 7 to 10 who missed the vaccination last year, 22 girls aged 10 who are not going to school and 17 girls aged 11 to 14 will be vaccinated. 121 health workers and 151 volunteers will be mobilized to run the campaign.
