Following the decision of the Bhimdatta Municipal Executive, the municipality and ward office announced 'Bipin Chowk' on Friday and inscribed Bipin's name in the area.
'We will continue to remember the bravery shown by Bipin in Israel, and this chowk has been named after Bipin so that others may also remember,' said Gagan Singh Dhami, Ward Chairman of Bhimdatta Municipality-3. 'We have also planned to erect a statue of Bipin in this chowk in the future.'
Bipin Joshi, a student of the Faculty of Agriculture of Sudurpaschim University, who went to Israel under the Learn and Earn program two years ago, died while under Hamas control. Bipin's body was brought home on Kartik 3 after the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. His last rites were performed in the Mahakali River on the second day after the body reached home.
Bipin's father Mahananda Joshi, brother Kishor Joshi and others were present when Bipin Chowk was announced. Ward Chairman Dhami said that the Bhimdutta Municipal Executive Council has decided to declare Bipin a martyr and has recommended him to the federal government through the District Administration Office.
