A total of 55 candidates have filed their candidacies in all three constituencies of Kanchanpur for the House of Representatives elections. Of these, 11 are independents and 44 are candidates from various political parties.

According to the office of the election officer, six women have filed their candidacies in all three constituencies across the district. In Constituency No. 1, Bina Magar from the Nepali Communist Party, Sita BK from the Aam Janata Party, and Rupa Devi Bista and Manju Devi Sunar from the independents have filed their candidacies. Similarly, Premwati Rana from the Nagarik Unmukti Party has filed her candidacy from Constituency No. 2, while Laxmi Kumari Bista has become the candidate from the Aam Aadmi Party in Constituency No. 3.

Most of the old and some new faces are seen from the main political parties. Bina Magar has been elected from the Nepali Communist Party in Constituency No. 1 before. UML's Taralama Tamang is also a member of the dissolved House of Representatives. Congress's Gopi Prasad Upadhyay and Rastriya Swatantra Party's Janak Singh Dhami are new faces.

Congress's Narayan Prakash (NP) Saud is an old face in Constituency No. 2. UML's Bachan Bahadur Singh, Nepali Communist Party's Madhav Prasad Pant, and Rashtriya Swatantra Party's Deepak Bohora are new faces.

Congress' Hari Prasad Bohora is contesting the election for the first time in Constituency No. 3. UML's Deepak Prakash Bhatta was elected as a member of the House of Representatives in 2074. Nepali Communist Party's Man Bahadur Sunar has already become a member of the Far Western Provincial Assembly.

According to the Returning Officer's Office, 19 candidates, including 4 independents, have filed their candidacies in Constituency No. 1, 19 candidates, including 4 independents, in Constituency No. 2, and 17 candidates, including 3 independents, in Constituency No. 3.

Influential Congress leader Ramesh Bohora, who is also a former Home Minister, did not become a candidate this time. Despite being elected from Constituency No. 3 several times, this time, the Congress has fielded Hari Prasad Bohora.

The writer was elected directly in 2056, 2070, and 2079 and through proportional representation in 2064. He has also been a minister several times. Recently, he was embroiled in some controversies due to his role as Home Minister during the Gen-G movement.

Dissatisfaction has been seen in the Dodhar Chandni area of Mahakalipara, under his constituency, over the writer's not being made a candidate.
