Bir Bahadur Balayar, who is preparing to become a candidate for the Nepali Congress from Kailali Constituency No. 4, has decided not to contest the election at the last minute. He announced his withdrawal from the election process on Tuesday as preparations for nomination registration were in full swing.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the situation of having to hold elections in a short period of time, Balayar made it clear that he would not contest this time. He said that even though the people's representative is elected for a period of five years, it is not practical to have to face elections again in a few months.
Talking to Kantipur, Balayar said, 'The parliament formed under this constitution was dissolved. Again, elections are being held under this constitution. What is the guarantee that the parliament after this election will not be dissolved?' He said that he would not contest the election.
