Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City has been conducting a skills and employment fair since Monday with the aim of providing youth with skill-based training in various fields and making them self-employed.
The skill and employment fair, with the participation of 600 trainees from 83 out of a total of 88 local levels in the Far West, will be held for 40 days.
Training in 22 sub-categories under 6 main categories will be conducted in the fair. Training has been conducted in 6 categories including automobiles, construction, hospitality and reception, electrical and mechanical, information technology, educational and service, art craft and designing. The fair was inaugurated on Monday during a program.
At the program, the chief guest, Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Rajendra Singh Bhandari, said that the important question today is how the youth have developed a psychology that makes them unable to live in the country. ‘This Ukusmus form of the Genji movement has manifested itself as an explosion of energy,’ Minister Bhandari said, ‘Now the country cannot withstand another explosion.’
He said that our approach to labor is wrong. ‘In our society, labor has become a matter of shame,’ said Minister Bhandari, ‘There is not only a geographical distance between the Far West and the center, but also a psychological distance. Development should not be in words, but should be visible and tangible.’
He praised the development made by Mayor Gopal Hamal in the development of Dhangadhi. Mayor Gopal Hamal said that although the country has been spending a lot of money on training in the past, Dhangadhi is doing something different and effective. ‘We have focused on ensuring that our practice ensures the market,’ said Mayor Hamal.
