The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has started the process of finalizing candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives elections. The party has decided to field former Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Trilochan Bhatta as its candidate for the House of Representatives from Doti district.
Bhatta was elected from Doti Provincial Assembly constituency ‘K’ on behalf of the CPN (Maoist Center) in the 2074 BS election and served as the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province for five years. He did not contest the 2079 BS election and is set to contest the House of Representatives election again this time.
Bhatta, along with eight other names including Constituent Assembly members Harka Bahadur Singh, Jung BK, Anjita Shrestha, Siddharaj BK, Bir Bahadur Thapa, Dhan Bahadur Bista and Prakash Joshi, were recommended as candidates by the CPN from Doti.
Deepak Dhami candidate from UML
The CPN-UML has decided to field Deepak Dhami as a candidate from the Doti House of Representatives constituency. The UML Central Secretariat meeting held on Saturday decided to field Dhami.
Dhami, a resident of Shikhar Municipality-10, is currently the central president of the All Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU), which is close to the UML. Dhami, who has a background in health education, has been a youth leader active in student politics for a long time.
UML Doti had recommended the names of eight people including Dhami as candidates. The recommendation list included the names of party Deputy General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatta, Doti in-charge and Sudurpaschim Province Assembly member Chakra Bahadur Malla, party district president Manju Malasi, Dirgharaj Bogati, Govinda Parki, Maheshwor Bhat and Dinesh Gharti Magar.
Manoj Bhatta from Janamorcha
Rastriya Janamorcha is going to field Manoj Bhatta as a candidate for the House of Representatives elections. Bhatta, who is also the party's general secretary, has been recommended from Doti district for the upcoming election to be held on Falgun 21, informed Janamorcha Doti president Double Bogati.
Narendra Bahadur Khadka from Rastriya Swatantra Party
Narendra Bahadur Khadka is going to be a candidate for the Doti House of Representatives elections from the National Independent Party (RSWP). Khadka had contested the House of Representatives elections as an independent candidate in the 2079 BS elections and was defeated by Prem Bahadur Ale Magar.
Businessman Khadka is also the former president of the Doti Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
RPP and Congress
Khadga Agrawal has become the candidate of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), while Nepali Congress has not yet officially announced its candidate. According to a Doti leader close to Congress President Gagan Thapa, former Doti party president Bharat Bahadur Khadka has almost decided to contest the House of Representatives election.
