Parties other than the Nepali Congress have finalized candidates for both constituencies in Achham for the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21.

In the district, parties including UML, Nepali Communist Party, and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have finalized their candidates and are engaged in discussions about conducting the election campaign. In Achham-1, the names of then UML Vice President Bhim Rawal from the Nepali Communist Party, Central Member Jhapat Bohara from the UML, and District President Om Prakash Rawal from the RSS have been finalized as candidates for the House of Representatives. In Achham-2, the candidacies of UML Central Member Yagya Bahadur Bogati, Nepali Communist Party Sharad Singh Bhandari, and RSS Joint General Secretary and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah's Chief Personal Secretary Bhupdev Shah have been finalized. Bhim Rawal is going to be a candidate from another party for the sixth time from here. He was defeated by Congress' Bal Bahadur Kunwar from Achham-1 in 2048. He won in 2051 and was defeated by Govinda Shah of the Nepali Congress in 2056. He was elected from here in 2070 and 2074.

Although the UML District Committee recommended Rawal as a single candidate from the same constituency for the 2079 House of Representatives election, Chairman KP Oli made Jhapat Bohara the candidate. Since then, Rawal has increased his distance from UML. Bohara is going to become a candidate for the House of Representatives for the second time on behalf of UML.

UML central member Bogati from Achham-2 has become a candidate for the House of Representatives for the third time. Bogati was elected in 2074 and was defeated in 2079. Sharad Singh Bhandari of the then Maoist, who won the 2064 Constituent Assembly election, has been decided as the candidate from the Nepali Communist Party this time. Bhandari is going to enter the election fray after 18 years.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has fielded a direct candidate for the House of Representatives for the first time. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Joint General Secretary Shah has already started campaigning here.
