Although the CPN-UML had recommended three names from Baitadi for the proportional representation election for the House of Representatives, none of them were included in the closed list. However, for the House of Representatives election to be held on Falgun 21, the UML has also included Baitadi in submitting new names to the Election Commission in place of the five names that were withdrawn from the proportional representation system.

UML central member Govinda Giri informed that the name of Mahadev Bhatta of Baitadi has been included in the Khas-Arya cluster in the closed list of proportional representation.

Along with Mahadev Bhatta of Baitadi, Laxman Kumar Sharma of Dhading, Saraswati Rai of Ilam, Saraswati Kumari of Rautahat and Member Bahadur Lo of Makawanpur have been recommended as candidates from various clusters under the closed list of proportional representation, he said.

Bhatta, who has been included in the closed list of UML, is also a former district president of UML. Bhatta, who joined the Unified Socialists when the UML split, later returned to UML. Bhatta is now in the UML provincial committee.

While recommending from the district in proportional representation, the names of President Naresh BK, provincial committee member Saraswati Nepali and former central advisor member of UML Mohan Thapa were recommended. Bhatta was not recommended.
