The government had sought applications for the recruitment of election police officers to make the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for February 21 peaceful and fearless. As of Thursday, the last day for applications, 1,661 people have applied for election police officers in both the police and the Armed Police Force in Darchula.
According to the District Police Office, Darchula, more than 1,000 men and more than 500 women have applied. Information Officer of the District Police Office, Devendra Budhathoki, said that the deadline has not been extended in the district as the number of applications received is almost double the number of requests.
Similarly, 120 men have applied for election police officers in Armed Police Force No. 44 Battalion, Darchula. The contact date for those who applied for election police officers is set for January 4.
