Three people died on the spot when a Bolero jeep met with an accident at Jhaulek near Bijaypur along the Jayaprithi Highway in Patan Municipality-8 of the district.
Around 10:30 am on Monday, a Bolero jeep (M1J 224) going from Motinagar in Baitadi to Dadeldhura fell about 300 meters off the road.
Police estimate that there were 10 people in the jeep. Before the police reached the spot, locals had already sent the injured to Dadeldhura Hospital and only the bodies of the three deceased were at the spot, said Police Inspector Suraj Singh, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Baitadi.
‘The names and addresses of the three deceased have not been revealed,’ he said, ‘The three deceased are men.’ He said that coordination is being done with the District Hospital Dadeldhura and the details of the remaining injured will be known only then.
Police said that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident and how many people were in the jeep.
