Dogadakedar Rural Municipality has been providing education incentive allowance to orphaned children within the municipality every year. The municipality has launched the education incentive program in the form of financial assistance to attract orphaned children who are unable to attend school due to financial constraints.

Chitra Bhatta, head of the Women, Children and Senior Citizens Branch, said that the municipality provides an annual cash allowance of 20,000 to 500,000 rupees to orphan students as an education incentive. ‘The municipality allocates a budget of 400,000 to 500,000 rupees every year for the education incentive program,’ she said. ‘The entire amount allocated each year is not spent, the remaining amount goes back to the municipality.’

He said that the rural municipality has implemented the education incentive program with the aim of facilitating the education of orphan children who are unable to buy essential items such as school uniforms and educational materials due to financial constraints.

The municipality has started this program since the fiscal year 2075/76. The number of children receiving the education incentive allowance has decreased in the last fiscal year compared to the fiscal year 080/81. In the fiscal year 080/81, 16 orphan children received allowances, while this number has decreased to 13 in the last fiscal year. The municipality has stated that the number of those receiving allowances has decreased in the last fiscal year as they dropped out of school and went outside the municipality.

From the current fiscal year, data collection is underway to provide widower allowances to widowers living within the municipality, said Parbati Karki, vice-chairwoman of the rural municipality. 'Data has been collected for widower allowances,' she said, 'We are preparing to provide allowances within the current fiscal year.' The rural municipality has stated that a separate budget has not been allocated for widower allowances.
