UML has single-handedly recommended central member Ganesh Singh Thagunna for the House of Representatives election from Darchula. The UML District Committee Darchula meeting held on Sunday recommended Thagunna's name.

Thagunna was also a candidate for the House of Representatives member from UML in the 2079 BS House of Representatives member election. He was defeated by Congress central member Dilendra Prasad Badu.

UML District Committee Chairman Gyanendra Gharti said that it was decided to make leader Thagunna a candidate in the upcoming election and go among the people.

Thagunna had previously won the 2074 BS House of Representatives member election and the 2070 BS Constituent Assembly member election.

Nepali Congress, CPN, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and RPP have already recommended their candidates for the House of Representatives member election from Darchula.
