A woman's body has been found on the banks of the Mahakali River in Darchula. Police said the body was found on the banks of the Mahakali River in Dhap, Mahakali Municipality-7, on Saturday.

According to the District Police Office, Darchula, the body of a woman aged around 55/56 was found on the river bank. In the morning, locals had informed the police after seeing the woman's body on the river bank.

Immediately after receiving the information, a police team from the District Police Office, Darchula, brought the body to the district hospital for an autopsy along with a certificate of the incident, said Darchula Police Spokesperson Hemraj Bhatta. 

The woman's body appears to have been found a few days ago. The police said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
