The Baitadi Committee of the Commission has resumed work after the Supreme Court overturned the government's decision to dissolve the Land Issues Resolution Commission.

The meeting of the Land Commission District Committee held on Friday in the presence of District Coordination Committee Chief Khagendra Singh Dhami, Chief District Officer Punya Bikram Poudel and others decided to write to the municipalities to provide details of landless Dalits, landless squatters and unorganized settlers by Magh 25, said Ramesh Pandey, Chairman of the Commission's Baitadi Office.

'We will move forward with other work once the details are available from the local levels,' he said, 'Some local levels have informed us that they have prepared the details, but they have not provided them.'

Committee member secretary and head of the Survey Office Binod Prasad Bhatta said that based on the Commission's decision, letters have already been sent to all 10 local levels of the district on Friday.

In the letter sent to the municipalities, it is mentioned that the applications collected from all wards will be entered into the Commission's computer system, a ward and local level facilitation committee will be formed, and the applications will be investigated and verified by attaching notices of objections to the claims as per the work procedure.

Similarly, the letter mentions that the details of landless Dalits, landless squatters and unorganized settlers who have received information and decision verification from the ward level and executive should be provided to the district committee.

So far, 3,000 landless Dalits, landless squatters and unorganized settlers have registered applications in the district. The committee has been given the authority to distribute land certificates to landless squatters, landless Dalits and unorganized settlers.
