Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited (NIMB) has provided financial assistance of Rs 200,000 to two families who were left homeless due to landslides.
Govinda Bista, manager of the Satbanjh branch of NIMB Bank, said that the bank has provided financial assistance of Rs 200,000 to single women Rekha Chand and Gris Chand from Katanoli, Surnaya Rural Municipality-2 in the district for the reconstruction of their houses.
‘The bank has provided financial assistance to the disaster-affected families for the reconstruction of their houses under its social responsibility,’ he said, ‘We have handed over a check of Rs 100,000 each to both the homeless people.’ The victim families have stated that the bank’s financial assistance will help in the reconstruction of their houses.
The landslide that occurred along with the incessant rains on Bhadra 15 had washed away the houses of both of them. After the houses were washed away, they have been living in someone else’s house in Satbanjh.
Surnaya Rural Municipality had earlier provided food and clothes to the landslide-affected families, while the ward office had provided Rs 50,000 each to both the families.
