Since the beginning of December, dense fog has affected public life in this area. As children, senior citizens and poor families living in camps have been most affected due to the cold, the Division Forest Office Kailali, in coordination with the Armed Police Force and Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City, is distributing firewood in public places in Dhangadhi.
Firewood was distributed at Seti Hospital, Shahid Gate, Parichowk, Manhera, in front of Aristo Boarding School, Campus Chowk, Moti Chowk, Gurhi Chowk, Adalat Road, Belauri Bus Park on Bhansar Road, Adarsh Chowk, near the Armed Police Post, Milan Chowk, Hat Bazaar and Traffic Crossing on Sunday evening, the Division Forest Office has stated.
‘We have targeted places with heavy traffic, including airports, hospitals, bus parks,’ said Division Forest Office Chief Ramvichari Thakur. ‘We have not allowed firewood to be scarce at every intersection in Dhangadhi since Saturday.’
Akhilesh Chaurasia, a metrologist at the regional office of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, said that the minimum temperature in Dhangadhi is 9 degrees and the maximum is 15 degrees. According to him, the temperature in Dhangadhi and the surrounding areas has also dropped significantly for the past few days.
