The cabinet meeting held on Friday decided to establish area administration offices in nine different places in the country, including four in the far west.
It has been decided to establish area administration offices in Melauli of Baitadi, Kolti of Bajura, Bipinagar of Doti and Gokuleshwor of Darchula in the far west. Similarly, it has been decided to establish area administration offices in Sirijanga of Taplejung, Dho of Dolpa, Khatyad of Mugu, Raskot of Kalikot and Hidanagadhi of Sankhuwasabha.
After the demand and long efforts of the residents of the Talloswarad area of Baitadi, an area administration office is to be established in Melauli. The locals are happy with the government's decision to establish an area administration in Melauli. The establishment of the administration will end the obligation of the residents of the Talloswarad area to travel all day to the district headquarters for essential work including citizenship.
The Talloswarad area includes Melauli Municipality, Shivnath and Pancheshwor Rural Municipality. To go to the district headquarters from this area, one has to pay a fare of Rs 2,500. Shivnath Rural Municipality Chairman Karnasingh Saund said that the government should implement the decision to establish the office quickly by managing the manpower.
With this, there will be two area administration offices in Baitadi. Earlier, the area administration office was operating in the Purchaundi Municipality's hat.
