Tej Bahadur Chand, 25, of Santola, Pancheshwor Rural Municipality-1, Baitadi, was found dead on Wednesday.
The deceased, who had gone with the villagers on Tuesday morning to work in Pithoragarh, India, was found dead in a ditch on the Pancheshwor-4 to Binayak road section, said his brother Deepak Chand. ‘My brother’s body has been found bruised,’ he said. ‘We will file a complaint later for further investigation, as per the postmortem report.’
Locals had informed the police after seeing Chand unconscious on the road. Police Inspector Baldev Badu, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Baitadi, said that Chand had already died when the police reached the spot. ‘A CC of alcohol was found near the deceased Chand,’ he said. ‘The deceased was lying face down on the road, further investigation is underway.’
He said that the body has been sent to the district hospital for postmortem.
