A leopard trapped in a snare in Baitadi has been rescued safely. The leopard was trapped in a snare in Bhimradi, Dhauladi, Sigas Rural Municipality-2 of the district on Sunday night.
Naresh Karna, Information Officer of the Division Forest Office, Baitadi, said that the leopard that was trapped in a snare set by locals was rescued safely around 12 noon on Tuesday.
The leopard's front right leg was caught in the snare. He said that a technical team from Shuklaphanta National Park, Kanchanpur, rescued the leopard.
The technical team rescued the leopard after making it unconscious. The Division Forest Office has stated that the leopard will be released in the Sigas Protected Forest Area.
The Division Forest Office, Baitadi, has also written to the Community Forest to investigate why and who set the snare inside the community forest.
