Forty-six thousand 20 people from nine districts of the Far Western Province have registered their names in the voter list for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.
Of these, 29,439 people registered their names online and 16,581 people registered their names in the voter list by attending the election office. According to the Provincial Election Office, more voters have been added in Kailali, Kanchanpur and Baitadi than in other districts.
18,213 new voters have been added in Kailali, 12,291 in Kanchanpur, 2,652 in Baitadi and 2,628 in Darchula. Similarly, 1,892 in Dadeldhura, 2,345 in Bajhang, 2,604 in Achham, 1,878 in Doti and 1,517 in Bajura, a total of 46,200 new voters have been added, said Premraj Bhatta, Chief of the Provincial Election Office. With this, the total number of voters in the Far West has reached 1,715,431. In the 2079 election, the number of voters in the province was 1.669 million thousand 411. Among the newly registered voters, the number of young people is high, informed the office head Bhatta.
According to him, along with the work of verifying the list of voters collected in the election offices, preparations for the election have also been increased. ‘The work of verifying the list of voters, updating the voter list and managing voting materials is ongoing, we are fully active to make the upcoming election organized,’ said Bhatta.
