In the District Hospital Baitadi, if a patient needs blood, they have to seek help from the army and police. To end this shortage of blood, a blood bank is being set up at the District Hospital Baitadi. A meeting held with stakeholders under the coordination of Chief District Officer Punya Bikram Poudel has decided to establish a blood bank in Baitadi.
The mini blood bank is going to be operated with the support of Nepal Red Cross Society Branch Baitadi, Dasharathchand Municipality and District Hospital Baitadi. The municipality will manage the necessary manpower for the blood bank. The Red Cross has been assigned the responsibility of managing the necessary training of the manpower and the resources.
Similarly, preparations are being made so that the District Hospital Baitadi will manage the equipment, materials and space required for the blood bank. ‘The concerned bodies have taken the responsibility for operating the blood bank,’ he said, ‘Preparations are being made to bring the mini blood bank into operation within the next few days.’
It has also been decided to send the blood collected in Baitadi but not consumed to the blood banks of Dadeldhara, Dhangadhi and Kanchanpur.
