One person died when a tractor (Bhe 1 Ta 7854) heading towards Bahirasain from Godam Bazaar in Alital Rural Municipality-8 of Dadeldhura fell about five meters off the road at around 10 pm on Saturday.
Bharat Rawat, 27, of Alital-5, Barhisai, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to Jogbudha Hospital for treatment, but the doctors declared him dead.
There were five people in the tractor, including the driver. Of them, 19-year-old Pawan B.K. and 25-year-old Tilak Chokhal are undergoing treatment at Jogbudha Hospital. Santosh Roka, 24, has been referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment, according to the District Police Office, Dadeldhura.
Police have taken the tractor driver, 27-year-old Yogendra Gharti, into custody after the accident and are conducting necessary investigations.
