An elderly couple was beaten up and robbed of jewelry and cash in Polkhari, Bedkot Municipality-5, Kanchanpur.
Police said that a group of four or five robbers robbed the house of 57-year-old Dwarika Panta at around 2 am and snatched her nose ring and earrings.
While pulling the earrings, her earlobe was also snatched. ‘They say that more than two tolas of jewelry and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash were stolen,’ said SP Khadak Bahadur Khatri of District Police Kanchanpur, ‘There was only an elderly couple in the room at night, and they were also beaten up.’
According to SP Khatri, Panta’s husband, 78-year-old Umapati, was also beaten up by the robbers. SP Khatri informed that the incident is being investigated and the robbers are being searched for.
