Bhageshwor Rural Municipality has declared a public holiday on Tuesday. The decision has been taken to declare a public holiday on the occasion of the Vaikuntha Chaturdashi Mela on Kartik 18.
As per the decision of the village executive, a public holiday has been declared within the rural municipality area on the occasion of the traditional fair of Bhageshwor Temple, Dhura, which will be held on the day of Vaikuntha Chaturdashi of the bright half of Kartik.
It is mentioned that all work except essential services will be closed in the rural municipality on that day. The village executive office, all ward offices, health institutions, educational institutions and other subordinate organizations will also be closed on the day of the holiday, said Laxmi Dutta Bhatta, the rural municipality's chief administrative officer.
The Vaikuntha Chaturdashi fair held in the premises of Bhageshwor Temple is considered important from a religious and cultural perspective. Every year, thousands of devotees visit the temple in Dhura to worship and offer prayers.
