The 'Far West Festival-2082' is going to be held in Dhangadhi from November 22. This is the 19th edition of the festival.
The Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing the festival with the aim of promoting tourism, agriculture, industry, culture and trade of the Far West Province. The festival will run until Poush 2 at Pashupati Tole, Dhangadhi-1, said the association's president, Pushkar Raj Ojha.
He expressed confidence that the festival will contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of the Far West. The organizers have stated that there will be about 500 stalls for industry, trade, agriculture, tourism and technology at the festival. Of these, 40 stalls will be for agriculture, 15 for women entrepreneurs, single women and local dishes, said President Ojha. According to him, special priority will be given to local products, women's enterprises and cottage industry products.
According to the association, local products, handicrafts, agricultural products, herbs, vegetables, industrial materials, household appliances, solar energy, electric vehicles, traditional and modern materials will be exhibited at the festival. Similarly, cultural programs of local communities including Tharu, Rana Tharu, and others, performances by national artists, and children's recreational sports will also be the attractions of the festival. It is estimated that more than 700,000 people will visit the festival throughout the festival period.
23 sub-committees, including the organizer, have been formed to manage the festival. According to Chairman Ojha, the association has stated that all preparations have been completed at the festival venue in terms of security. The festival has a 50 percent discount for students and athletes, free for senior citizens, and a 100 rupee entry fee for the general public.
The Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry has stated that it has made extensive preparations to make the Sudurpaschim Festival, which is organized every year, more effective and participatory this year. According to Chairman Ojha, the festival, which will be organized with an investment of 30 million rupees, is expected to generate a turnover of 150 million rupees.
